The opportunity

As a Software Developer on the Unity Dashboard Conversion team, you will play an instrumental role in shaping the future of Unity’s cloud platform. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining the Unity Cloud frontend, a critical platform that connects users to our UGS and Grow services. You’ll have the chance to contribute to the design and implementation of the tools, runtime libraries, and CI/CD pipelines that empower our internal teams to innovate quickly.

In the short term, you will collaborate closely with a skilled group of engineers to deliver impactful UI/UX enhancements and maintain the component library that ensures design consistency across Unity products. Your immediate goal will be to integrate with the team’s workflows, making valuable contributions to feature development, code quality, and system improvements.

Long-term success involves becoming a key engineering contributor to the evolution of our platform. You will help drive the creation of new services and products, expanding the reach of our tools and ensuring that our platform remains scalable, efficient, and robust. Additionally, you will help refine the Unity Notification Service, enabling us to deliver timely and relevant notifications to our users.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop and maintain the Unity Cloud frontend platform, contributing to the design, implementation, and optimization of UI/UX features.

  • Collaborate closely with other engineers to enhance our component library, ensuring UI consistency across Unity’s cloud services and products.

  • Design, build, and refine core runtime libraries and utilities, while contributing to the development of CI/CD pipelines that support rapid feature development.

  • Drive the evolution of the Unity Notification Service, improving its ability to deliver customizable, platform-specific notifications to users.

  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to identify technical challenges and implement innovative solutions that enhance scalability and system performance.

What we're looking for

  • Proficiency in React and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of frontend development, state management, and component-based architecture.

  • Experience with testing frameworks like Jest to ensure high-quality, well-tested frontend code.

  • Strong knowledge of how to create, bundle, and distribute libraries for efficient reuse across our company.

  • Familiarity with Node.js and backend development concepts, including RESTful services and API design.

You might also have

  • Understanding of cloud infrastructure (preferably Google Cloud Platform) to build scalable, secure web services and manage deployments.
