In an industry where open worlds are becoming increasingly large, complex, and realistic, Studio Alice specializes in “World Capture.” Our team of experts at Studio Alice captures real-world elements to breathe more life into our games through casting, performance capture, photogrammetry, and audio, creating immersive, innovative, and unparalleled experiences.

Our motion capture studio is equipped with 100 Vicon cameras, some of the best cameras on the market. Thanks to them, we can capture the performance of actors and stunt persons with the utmost precision.

Just like visual assets, sounds play a capital role in the player’s experience and immersion. Our team oversees the recording and editing of dialogues and sound effects.

Working as a technical artist for Studio Alice means joining an agile R&D team, contributing to the design of efficient tools, and bridging the gap between motion capture teams and productions at the studio.

What you’ll do

  • Create fast, efficient, and clear pipelines in collaboration with other teams at Alice ;
  • Prepare coherent documentation about pipelines, tools and procedures ;
  • Help the team with daily support regarding tools by analyzing problems faced by users and suggesting appropriate solutions ;
  • Mentor the R&D team so its members can learn about DCCs and other pertinent tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

What you bring

  • A college degree in animation, video game orientation (or related training)
  • Five years of experience as an animator or an artist in the video game industry
  • Proficiency in animation software (like Motion Builder, Maya and 3ds Max)
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C#, JavaScript) is good to have
  • Knowledge of mocap (tracking, retargeting) is good to have
  • The ability (and desire) to wear many hats, like artist, programmer, diplomat, teacher, communicator, leader, supporter, manager of memory quotas, creator, and innovato
