Job Description

As a 3D Technical Director, you will be part of the production team of one of our AAA games developed by several studios.

Reporting to the Lead Programmer and working with a growing team, you will be responsible for technical decisions made by the team of developers (3D / engine).

As the main contact between the game's production team and the technical teams, you will ensure the proper flow of information, coordination between the teams and will be the reference on the various sub-domains in programming.

Your responsibilities will be to :

  • Supervise and support the project's architecture choices in close collaboration with the project's technical and artistic leads,
  • Work with the lead programmer to participate in the technical choices related to the strategy,
  • Supervise all operations for the team of programmers,
  • Have an excellent knowledge of the 3D technical issues of the game,
  • Be a debugging support for the other jobs by finding the technical reasons of the dysfunctions, inform/correct accordingly,
  • Collaborate with artists and designers to understand their needs and expectations,
  • Identify potential problems and propose solutions to avoid them,
  • Communicate with other Ubisoft Production Studios.

Qualifications

  • You have at least 5 years of experience in 3D programming for video games,
  • You have a first significant experience as a Technical Director in the video game industry,
  • You have a solid background in mathematics and excellent C++ programming skills,
  • You are also very comfortable working with current graphics APIs (DirectX11 and 12, Vulkan) and associated shader languages (HLSL, GLSL, etc...),
  • You have excellent organizational skills (oral and written) and a great ability to adapt,
  • Your level of English allows you to communicate easily in an international context,
  • Knowledge of Python is a plus.
