Job Description

As a Game Analytics Team Lead within Ubi MTL’s User Research Lab, you'll guide a team of game intelligence analysts in providing production teams with increasingly meaningful information to improve player experiences.

Your group of game intelligence analysts will respond to production teams’ questions and concerns with concrete answers and actionable suggestions. And you’ll oversee them in the process, as they perform data design, analysis, mining, and source combining, as well as carry out in-depth studies to discover new, valuable insights.

We’ll be counting on you to keep a forward-focused vision as you help us make the most of collected data efficiently and consistently: to evaluate what we’re doing now and explore opportunities for improvement, evolve our analysis methods and tools, and facilitate how we work for the long term.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee your team in assessing, synthesizing, and interpreting in-game data & generating insights from it.
  • Create new processes + automate and optimize existing ones.
  • Assess our current analysis methods and tools + suggest new ways to evaluate data.
  • Work closely with key analytics contributors (like BI developers and data scientists) to explore opportunities to leverage their expertise.
  • Regularly meet with your team to assign tasks, establish priorities, discuss progress, find solutions to setbacks, provide coaching, etc.
  • Collaborate and communicate with interdependent teams throughout the company to exchange information & promote knowledge sharing.
  • Synch up with other team leads to ensure consistency, remove blockers, etc.
  • Mentor and motivate your team members to refine their analytical skills.
  • Participate in recruitment to build and grow your team of game intelligence analysts + foster their professional development and career progression.

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Deep-rooted knowledge of analytics methodologies and big data technologies (especially Spark and Hadoop)
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages & data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • A degree in Business Intelligence, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or other relevant training
  • Around 3 years of experience in data development, data analysis, business analysis, or related experience (experience managing or coordinating a team, a huge plus)
  • A thorough grasp data science concepts and the desire to push them further
  • A collaborative and innovative spirit + developed communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving: you can anticipate issues and come up with solutions to overcome them
  • Mentorship: you’re motivated to share your knowledge and techniques to shape the next generation of analysts
