Job Description

Ubisoft, a global leader in the video games and entertainment software industry, is currently seeking a full-time Senior Financial Accountant for its Accounting Department. Our ideal candidate has the ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently under tight deadlines and perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment. The position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Manager of GL Accounting.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support general ledger accounting functions including but not limited to journal entry preparation, month-end close processes, financial reporting accuracy, GL account reconciliations, and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance, reconciliation, reporting, and analysis of fixed assets, office rental, studio spend, tax related, and other GL accounts. Responsible for processing, analyzing, and documenting complex transactions. Perform accounting research and investigation as needed
  • Manage bank account reconciliations and support the monthly cash forecast deliverable for Ubisoft Treasury in France
  • Provide detailed flux and variance analysis of PnL statements and Balance Sheets on monthly basis. Participate in the flux review meeting and present to executive management team
  • Collaborate with France HQ to reconcile intercompany entries within PeopleSoft and Oracle HFM reporting systems for multiple business units. Coordinate timely preparation of monthly reporting deliverables
  • Facilitate the renewal/creation of process documentation for existing accounting procedures and policies. Draft process narratives, flowcharts or accounting memos to support training or internal control purpose
  • Proactively coordinate with internal business partners, including but not limited to: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Revenue Accounting, Tax, Finance (FP&A), and IT/Business Intelligence - communicate guidance for proper accounting principles/objectives and take initiative for improvement of current accounting processes
  • Work with internal and external auditors to prepare deliverables in accordance with the financial statement audit or other ad-hoc audits
  • Work with the Accounting Manager and/or Controller on other ad-hoc analyses or projects as requested

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field (CPA preferred or in progress)
  • 5+ years combined experience in corporate accounting, or with a public accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts, US GAAP and IFRS, and intercompany transactions. Experience with ASC842 or IFRS16 preferred
  • Experience with accounting research and memos
  • Excellent command with Excel and manipulating large data sets is a must
  • Prior experience with business intelligence software and ERP systems
  • Strong quantitative analysis skillset, with the ability to read, analyze, interpret and explain complex financial data
