Job Description

Your role

Harbour, online solutions at Ubisoft with global representation, supplies standardized online technology products and services to the Ubisoft production teams worldwide.

We are Harbour APAC, a local presence in Asia based at the Chengdu studio, to support our online developments and operations in the region. We are looking for Online Operations Programmer to participate in the development and operations of one of our cutting-edge platforms to help production teams build and operate title microservices on Kubernetes.

By joining Harbour APAC, you enter a community of passionate, extraordinary people connected by their need to innovate, to be creative and to work with the latest online technology. You will work with all the teams within Development and Operations and many groups outside of Harbour (e.g. Game production, IT), gain broad knowledge across Harbour’s services, applications and codebases, collaborate with and learn from exceptional engineers while using technology to solve hard challenges.

What you will do

  • Build and operator micro services based on Kubernetes.
  • Work closely with other Harbour units to develop and improve Harbour products and services offer.
  • Support operations teams in deployments and troubleshooting of Harbour services.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to help them deliver their online projects according to the roadmap.
  • Develop online services and features aimed at supporting games production and operations.
  • Participate in medium to large-scale, complex, cross-functional technical projects.
  • Contribute to the ongoing efforts to document systems architecture and flows for general and technical audiences。

Qualifications

What you should be equipped with

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent
  • Need to have 3+ years’ experience in web backend development, deployment and operations.
  • Need to be proficient in Golang (or Python and still will be switched to Golang later).
  • Need to be proficient in software development under Linux.
  • Need to have project experience in one of the public cloud like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or any of China domestic cloud providers.
  • Need to have project experience with Docker, Kubernetes and cloud native technologies.
  • Good teamwork, communication skills in both English and Chinese.

Additional Information

Your bonus points

  • Familiar with monitoring systems like ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Cortex and Thanos is a plus.
  • Experience with CICD tools like gitlab is a plus.
  • Experience in agile development process is a plus.
  • Experience in the video games industry is a plus.
