Since opening its doors in 2008, Ubisoft Singapore has become the biggest AAA game development studio in Southeast Asia. It innovated within the franchise as the studio behind the naval battle gameplay and water technology in Assassin’s Creed® III, Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag® and most recently in Assassin’s Creed® Valhalla. Its expertise in AAA and live operations, combined with a passion for naval gameplay, pushed the team to lead the development of Skull and Bones™ revealed at E3 in 2017.

Job Description

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Functional

  • Understand the requirements and constraints of game design, engine and platform;
  • Implementation of content into game engine;
  • Go through game design documents to get to know all about the environments, objects, ambiances, story, style, and understand the global experience of the game;
  • Be in direct relation with the Art Director and Lead Artist to get their intentions about cut-scenes & playable events;
  • Establish Lead Artist the list of assets needed from other departments for each scripted events/cinematic/crew animations;
  • Identify, communicate and escalate any risks related to the character integration in game;
  • Organize and coordinate the resolving of major technical problem of her discipline;
  • Provide team members with any needed support such as direction, guidance and assistance;
  • All other related tasks.

Organizational

  • Ensure that the other members involved in the project have all the necessary information;
  • Initiate and participate in the knowledge sharing, problem solving, and with other team members within and/ or across projects/ disciplines.

Communication

  • Actively communicate all dependencies, changes and task completion to Production Manager and reporting Manager;
  • Attending all relevant reviews;
  • Collaborative communication with not just team members but also the other disciplines;
  • Document pipeline and other character system and share them with the team;
  • Proactive ownership;
  • Coming with creative ideas and solutions to improving the efficiency on the integration pipeline;
  • Proactively updating all assigned JIRA;
  • Regularly follow-up on the status of dependencies that are holding up your task.

For the studio and the group

  • The success of the project is the main objective, success also means growing the studio competencies;
  • Share experience, develop a Ubisoft culture

Qualifications

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Relevant experience in working on AAA titles is a plus;
  • Excellent technical knowledge of game engine and basic understanding of script languages (C#) and python are a plus;
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the video game development process;
  • Technical animation and rigging knowledge are a plus;
  • Ability to work under pressure with pre-established constraints;
  • Leadership skills and the ability to work within a team;
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to structure one’s own work and that of the team;
  • Software and editor skills (knowledge of Unreal/Unity an asset, along with advanced knowledge of 3Dmax);
  • Highly creative;
  • A passion for video games as well as significant in-depth knowledge of the field.
