Job Description

We are currently looking for a passionate and energetic Communication Director to lead our Studio Communications team in Barcelona.

In this role, you will be responsible for the corporate communication internally and externally for Ubisoft Barcelona. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining the internal communication and external branding, such as social media channels, PR, media contacts, events, studio visits, newsletters, etc. You will work closely with the Operational side of the studio (HR, IT, Workplace, Finance and Management). The role also includes advice to our Management Team about communication strategy, media relations and other external activities. You will also be responsible for contacts with and reporting to Ubisoft’s Global Communications Team.

This role comes with a lot of freedom and responsibility and we expect that you can give an added value to our already great reputation, values and approach.

In this context, your missions will consist of:

  • Anticipate and develop internal and external visibility.
  • Build communication strategy for the Studio, in coordination with Corporate Communication team and the Studio Management.
  • Communication’s team management (managing a team, driving one to one and support career development, organize tasks, deadlines for the team).
  • As a director, encourage and support Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Establish recommendations and communication plans.
  • Write Q & A, key messages or help team managers.
  • Create communication kits for our assets: product description, metadata, visuals.
  • Provide operational support for the life of the studio: convivial moments, logistics and events.
  • Coordinate requests for announcements or press releases requested by external partners.
  • Propose and follow visibility opportunities: internal social network, internal newsletters, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation of public interventions (presentations, video editing).
  • Build strategy and communication tools with the people responsible for each project when necessary.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has an academic background within communications or marketing, but more importantly has at least 5-10 years of experience in the field. You are an inspiring leader and can show experience from handling media contacts, also in an international environment.

  • Deep knowledge/understanding and passion for Videogames industry
  • Documented experience from leading successful internal and external communication projects, including events
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, community and public relations activities
  • Demonstrated successful experience of writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media
