Job Description

About the role

As Animation Director, you will be responsible for the animation content for an entire project, including gameplay animations and cinematics. You will also ensure all the visual elements are credible and aligned with the overall game vision to maximize the player’s experience. This position is based in Shanghai.

What you will do

  • Set out the animation artistic vision for the game & cinematic based on the creative direction by gathering and developing visual concepts and references, in close collaboration with the Creative Director and the Art Director

  • Communicate expectations of the artistic vision to the team in regards to quality and content through appropriate visual references and documents (movies, series, other video games, design documents) describing the artistic direction

  • Supervise the work carried out by the team to ensure that quality objectives are met and that the elements produced are in line with the game’s vision and the artistic charter

  • Work in collaboration with the Lead Animator to define the scope and planning, help find the right balance between the desired quality and the delivery constraints (time, cost, resources, etc.)

  • Direct the actors during mocap sessions and guarantee the delivery of high-end cinematics in-game

  • Provide support and guidance to other project needs across the studio

Qualifications

  • Extensive experiences as a Director in Movie or CG field, game engine experience is a plus
