About Us:

Launched in 2011, Twitch is a global community that comes together each day to create multiplayer entertainment: unique, live, unpredictable experiences created by the interactions of millions. We bring the joy of co-op to everything, from casual gaming to world-class esports to anime marathons, music, and art streams. Twitch also hosts TwitchCon, where we bring everyone together to celebrate and grow their personal interests and passions. We're always live at Twitch.

About the Role:

Do you like building solutions, solving hard technical challenges, and helping video content creators earn a living doing what they love? Are you excited by the idea of making hundreds of engineers more effective? If so we may have a home for you on the Builder Products team.

Through a lens of pure customer obsession, our team creates a variety of internal products and services which address important areas such as availability, latency, cost and security. These solutions provide a single-pane of window into the health of the services with a goal of identifying risks and reducing costs across Twitch Engineering.

We're looking for experience in both front-end web programming (JS frameworks, tooling, modern browser awareness) and server-side programming (web architecture, SOA, database architecture). As an engineer on our team, you will contribute your ideas, own your part, and always keep our users first in mind. You will report to the Engineering Manager for Builder Products and can work from either Seattle, WA or San Francisco, CA!

Are you ready to take up the challenge and have a broad impact on all of Twitch's engineering?

You Will:

  • Design, build, and maintain performant, responsive and delightful web features
  • Specify, implement, and maintain the services that will power these features
  • Embrace and champion engineering best practices within your group and Twitch
  • Produce clean, high-quality code, tests, and documentation
  • Engage in code and design reviews with peers and partners
  • Partner with fellow engineering teams to deliver on complex initiatives together
  • Practice day-to-day ownership and customer obsession for all aspects of our products

You Have:

  • 3+ years experience engineering web applications with a focus on front-end
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and experience with React.js
  • Familiarity with scalability, concurrency, and API design
  • Ability to apply quantitative reasoning and UX design principles to building applications

Bonus:

  • Experience writing JavaScript applications with Typescript
  • Knowledge of AWS services
  • Experience writing Go or Python in production systems

Perks:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance
  • 401(k), Maternity & Parental Leave
  • Flexible PTO
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Amazon Employee Discount
  • Monthly Contribution & Discounts for Wellness Related Activities & Programs (e.g., gym memberships, off-site massages),
  • Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Served Daily
  • Free Snacks & Beverages
