About the Role

Do you want to help solve difficult security challenges at a global scale? Twitch is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join the new Infrastructure Security team as the team's first hire. You will report to the Senior Manager of Infrastructure Software Development, advising senior leadership on long-term information systems security strategy. In your daily work, you will partner with software development, network engineering, and infrastructure operations teams to understand their security challenges to help us achieve our security goals. You will work with other security teams across the organization to develop and share best practices to champion those across our infrastructure engineering teams.

This new team designs information security controls for our global fleet of network infrastructure devices and software systems that support them. You'll be a lead for us on many exciting projects including: building our configuration management database (CMDB) with a focus on secure asset governance, working with software developers to help them build secure-by-default systems in the cloud, developing repeatable models for threat assessments.

This position can be located in Salt Lake City, UT or Seattle, US.

You Will:

  • Own organization-wide security projects (including security reviews, tool development, and creation of new security practices) from design to completion
  • Establish policies, procedures, and controls to continuously improve our security posture
  • Establish mechanisms for conducting internal audits
  • Assess threats and vulnerabilities, managing risks and trade-offs
  • Partner with software and hardware teams to help them make the right security calls
  • Champion security best practices across the organization
  • Collaborate effectively with other security teams at Twitch and Amazon
  • Mentor other security engineers

You Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance or similar, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in physical, infrastructure, information systems, or hardware security
  • Domain expertise in three or more core Common Body of Knowledge areas and secondary specializations (e.g. infrastructure security, security operation, endpoint security, software security, authentication and authorization, network architecture)
  • Lead large-scale efforts and influence multiple teams across an organization
  • Software development proficiency in at least one language (Go, Python, JavaScript, etc.) for tool development and code reviews
  • Fluency with AWS
