Job Description:

Treyarch is seeking a Technical UI Designer for an exciting, unannounced project. You will bridge the gap between UI Engineering, UX Design, and UI Art. You will be responsible for converting design wireframes into maintainable, extensible script in our custom Lua-based UI engine. You will also be responsible for making prototype UI using our proprietary UI tool.

Candidates should have a good understanding of human-software interaction and experience communicating complex information with simple aesthetics, and will need to be able to read, debug and work in a large and complex, C++ based codebase.

The ideal candidate is passionate, loves making great games and has a fundamental understanding of art, design and engineering principles.

Your Mission

  • Prototype, design, develop and maintain UI features.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with multiple teams across disciplines.
  • Consistently write solid, extensible script.
  • Implement designs in engine ensuring they meet visual and functional standards.
  • Reliably estimate work scope and requirements.
  • Architect systems with an eye for the end user and future internal development.
  • Contribute to pipeline and process improvement discussions.
  • Work with QA to maintain bug free script.

Player Profile

  • 3+ years of experience in the games industry.
  • Game industry experience on at least 1 commercially shipped title is preferable.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Lua is a plus).
  • C/C++ software engineering fundamentals.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Interactive Media Design, or a closely related field or equivalent.
  • Experience in Photoshop and Illustrator with knowledge of applications such as XD, After Effects, Maya/3DSMax or Flash a plus.
  • Passion and experience with First Person Shooters.
  • An understanding of basic UI principles.
  • Strong communication skills.
