Job Description Summary

Independently coordinates and executes tasks in support of a programs, event, service or department. Serves as point-of-contact to internal and external parties providing both information and assuring service delivery. Must foresee and rectify complications preemptively and in real time.

eSports is responsible for coordinating, coaching and supporting the administration of the eSports program in compliance with applicable external regulations and University policies and practices.

Job Summary

Assist the Director & Head Coach of the eSports program by exercising primary oversight of daily operations and management of eSports club programs and recreational online gaming in UA-maintained arenas. Assist in maintaining the daily operations of the UA eSports club facilities. Work with student leaders of club eSports teams and organizations as well as student assistants working in support roles in club arenas and for club events. Work with others in the university community to integrate the eSports experience into the academic experience and entrepreneurial culture. Build bridges in terms of community connections for UA club eSports players and interested members of the broader community, prospective students, and others.

Essential Functions

Primary coordination of club and recreational programs: Support the individual eSports clubs and the Club Esports Council including but not limited to creating relationships with student esports athletes and teams and implementing new initiatives. Assist Club eSports leadership and participants in the fundraising and budgeting for Club eSports teams. Provide program oversight and effective management of student assistants in club programs by coordinating the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines. Assist in maintaining overall game and practice schedules for each team and with facility needs for each club. Resolve conflict among student participants. Plan and coordinate trainings, teambuilding and learning experiences specifically designed for club members along with student leaders. Oversee tracking of attendance at games, practices, and meetings. Member of the eSports Leadership Team: Provide support in the development, planning, direction, and coordination of comprehensive university eSports programs, including, but not limited to: intramural eSports, club eSports, gaming club management, and recreational gaming; communicate effectively with others; demonstrate flexibility within the position assignments as needed. Assist in the recruitment of students to participate in Club eSports including participation in Admissions and Orientation activities. Facilitate pathways for academic and professional success for students in club programs. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of eSports venues. Oversee management of an organized space for equipment and uniforms, implement system for assigned equipment and uniforms and maintain accurate inventories. Supervise eSports facility student assistants. External outreach/coordination for club programs: Facilitate communication between each club and its related league or association. Assist in ensuring compliance with league rules and bylaws. Collaborate with community partners to promote involvement with club programs. Responsible for directing and monitoring the work of student and/or temporary workers. Other duties as assigned.

Additional Position Information:

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma. A valid driver's license. 1 (one) year of relevant experience. Demonstrated ability to organize, work in a team environment, motivate and guide a college eSports club program. Demonstrate familiarity with the rules and intricacies of the most widely played competitive games in the eSports field and a firm commitment to a student-centered culture and the academic success of students. Experience monitoring budgets and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideal candidate will be able to assist with student-player recruitment, conflict resolution and fundraising.

Preferred Qualifications:

A relevant Bachelor's Degree. Previous experience working in eSports, strong motivational skills, public relations skills and marketing capabilities. Experience in higher education administration, including working with students, organizing events and managing venues, and developing leadership skills. Experience maintaining both software and hardware equipment associated with eSports.

Compensation: The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
