As a Senior Tools & Pipeline Engineer at The Coalition, you will be a highly valued member of a world class Engine and Game Development team. You should have strong C++ skills, Unreal Engine experience (UE4) and a passion for building first-rate tools that empower our development teams. You should have strong communication skills and be able to work side by side with various stakeholders to create, enhance, and troubleshoot content workflows and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support the content pipeline and tools for AAA Next Generation games.
  • Work closely with various disciplines to increase the overall effectiveness of the development team.
  • Develop new technology and tools within 3D software packages, and write and maintain windows applications and standalone tools.
  • Make recommendations for content pipeline and tools development, considering improvements to team efficiency and UX.
  • Maintain tools for performance and stability.

Qualifications

  • 5-7+ years of programming experience, including prototyping and rapid iteration phases.
  • 3+ years current game or multimedia industry experience.
  • BSc or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
  • Experience shipping at least two console or PC video games with Xbox One generation platform experience.
  • Experience with high level / object-oriented languages (C++, C#, Python).
  • Experience with end-to-end asset implementation for a video game project.
  • Experience developing GUI based applications and custom content workflows.
  • Excellent problem solving abilities.
  • Strong math background.
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work closely with other engineers and artists.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of solid software engineering practices, experience with SCRUM / agile based methodologies.
  • Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Prior game development experience with a focus on gameplay and content.
  • Exposure to a 3D Digital Content Creation (DCC) package and customization/scripting techniques in that package, preferably MotionBuilder and/or Maya.
  • Experience with Autodesk’s Human IK.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: UI, network, gameplay, AI, animation, physics, graphics, low level systems or audio programming
  • Passion for playing as well as coding video games.
