That’s No Moon is an independent AAA game development studio established in 2021 by veterans of some of the most recognizable and critically acclaimed creative teams in the world, including Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward, Santa Monica Studio, Bungie, PlayStation, and more. A remote-friendly studio with a central office and performance capture stage located in Los Angeles, That’s No Moon is creating the next generation of narrative-driven, genre-defining experiences built upon a culture of creativity, collaboration, responsible production practices, and individual empowerment. We are assembling a diverse team of passionate developers of a wide range of experience levels and backgrounds to help shape the future of our studio and projects.

We are looking for an Audio Software Engineer who wants to push the boundaries for technical audio design innovation in a AAA title. This Audio Engineer can expect to be responsible for the technical needs of the audio engine and implementation pipeline (tools, process, etc.) and help to identify, and resolve inefficiencies within.

We need a dedicated engineer to collaborate with the Audio Team, the rest of the engineering department, and other creative departments to provide comprehensive game audio solutions with an emphasis on achieving GOTY. Your efforts will directly impact the creative audio direction and how the team works with the tools and audio development process throughout the project

The ideal candidate for this role will implement and maintain production quality C/C++ for audio features, tools, and workflows to build related systems. You will also drive audio performance optimization and debugging initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Break down features, building plans and assessing dependencies.

  • Work with the production team and engineering leadership to schedule those plans.

  • Write and maintain relevant documentation.

  • Analyze and deliver audio engine metrics (runtime performance, memory usage, voice counts, etc).

  • Provide regular communication updates and coordinate with production regarding scheduling and priorities.

Requirements & Skills:

  • Experience with C++.

  • (Bonus) Strong math skills.

  • (Bonus) Unreal Engine experience.

  • (Bonus) Wwise Audio Engine experience.

Qualities:

  • Work independently with minimal direction.

  • Ability to communicate clearly visually, verbally and written.
