In the Senior QA Developer role, you’ll be instrumental in transitioning our core product code bases to automated testing, working closely with development teams, and maintaining high standards of quality across our product suite. At Team Liquid, we're dedicated to assisting our players, fans, and the esports community with cutting-edge digital products. You will be at the forefront of advancing our QA processes by overseeing the transition from manual to automated testing. Working with development teams, the product owner, and the engineering manager, you’ll create and implement automated tests for our Node.js backend using JEST and our React frontend using Playwright. Your expertise will help us uphold high-quality standards, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure our products meet the highest benchmarks.
What You’ll Be Doing:
QA Strategy Development and Implementation:
Design and execute a QA strategy to transition from manual to automated testing for a core product.
Identify areas for improvement in existing QA processes and implement best practices to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
Automated Testing:
Partner with development teams to write automated tests for backend (Node.js - JEST) and frontend (React - Playwright).
Maintain and update test cases in a test management suite.
Guidance and Teamwork:
Guide and mentor development engineers in writing and maintaining automated tests.
Offer expertise on test automation frameworks, tools, and techniques to enhance team capabilities.
Work closely with the product owner and engineering manager to align QA efforts with product goals and timelines.
Engage with multiple development teams to ensure seamless integration of QA processes into the development lifecycle.
Quality Oversight:
Oversee the general approach to quality across all products within the Team Liquid product department.
Establish and enforce quality standards, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices across projects.
Monitor and report on QA metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in QA methodologies and tools.
Advocate for continuous improvement in QA processes and practices to drive product excellence.
Facilitate initiatives to implement new QA technologies and tools that enhance testing capabilities.
What You’ll Need:
Proven experience as a QA Engineer with a focus on automated testing.
Strong proficiency in writing automated tests with JEST or similar tools for Node.js.
Experience with Playwright or similar tools for testing frontend end-to-end use cases.
Solid knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills, thriving in an environment that encourages collective input.
Ability to manage QA processes and strategies with limited supervision.
