Talon Esports is an esports team operator which is currently looking to expand into the Philippines. Currently Talon operates 6 gaming titles in 4 other countries namely Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and South Korea.

Talon’s goal is to create one of the best platforms for esports players to achieve their personal and professional objectives. We look to leverage the framework from traditional sports an apply them to a lot of the gaming titles in which we participate in.

We are recruiting an experienced General Manager to oversee Talon’s Esports interests in the Philippines and be the direct point of contact for Talon’s esports players and coaches. This is an exciting new role reporting to the CEO. The General Manager will line manage a team of esports players and coaches in the Philippines and communicate the team requirements to the wider business. The incumbent will be the primary point of contact between all esports operations and the rest of the business. The role is fixed term for 12 months.

Key responsibilities

Esports Leadership

  • Work with other business functions to define/refine strategy and execute
  • Play leading role in developing Talon’s esports brand and future trajectory of esports operations, including ongoing evaluation of participation in various other esports titles in the Philippines
  • Be the front person for CFG regarding eSports (ie. conferences / event representation)

Player management

  • Work with CGO to build and maintain consistent performance
  • Take on role of line manager for all Talon esports players across the Philippines
  • Primary point of contact to manage and advise players on all day-to-day operations

Content creation

  • Advise and assist other business functions in all video/media production relating to Talon esports
  • Work with Talon content team producers and talent to help produce content for multiple platforms, including Twitch, for Clubs and players.

Marketing activations

  • Coordinate with marketing team for campaign planning and management

Commercialization

  • Advise and assist partnership sales and ideation teams on commercial partnership acquisition
  • Responsible for revenue target/ proving a ROI in esports General responsibilities
  • Compliance with Club policies
  • To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected
  • To maintain professional conduct at all times

Essential Personal Requirements

  • Strong passion and interest in esports and competitive gaming.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Sport’s Management or digital entertainment
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in Marketing, Management, Sport’s Management or digital entertainment
  • Fluency in English/Filipino language (spoken and written)
  • Knowledge of digital and social media
  • Skilled in managing personnel, equipment, and financial resources
  • Able to work flexible hours, including travel to attend competitions on weekends, evenings and overseas as required
  • Be an excellent team player
  • Must be able to share and communicate progress and updates
  • Be proactive and conscientious; take the initiative while maintaining the Company’s high standards
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills to communicate effectively at various levels including to players, coaches, tournament organizers, and executives
