This role is offered as fully remote, although on-site visits to our Leamington Spa office are possible for candidates who live within a commutable distance.

To be successful you will have:

  • Expert knowledge of Unity, including mobile development and the associated constraints of mobile devices.

  • A deep understanding of shader creation for the Universal Render Pipeline (Shader Graph and/or written shaders) and HDRP pipeline.

  • Strong knowledge of lighting techniques and the creation of visual effects.

  • Knowledge of profiling and optimisation techniques.

  • Excellent asset creation skills within software such as 3dsmax, Maya and Photohsop.

  • Experience of working with QA to resolve development issues that may arise.

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating art skills such as modelling, texturing and lighting of realtime assets.

  • Good experience of version control systems such as Git and Perforce.

What do we want from you:

  • Familiarity with a wide array of areas within the Unity game development cycle, including the use of prefabs (nested and variants), animation controllers and Timeline, UI implementation, particle systems and project/hierarchy organisation.

  • Strong 3D art fundamentals – modelling, UV creation (for texturing, lightmapping and use within shaders) and texturing for both PBR and more traditional pipelines.

  • Knowledge of modern art pipelines including ZBrush and Substance

  • The ability to demonstrate organised and non-destructive workflows wherever possible.

  • A desire to seek out the latest developments in game tech, to discover and learn new skills; to apply that knowledge in ways which benefit the projects and team as a whole.

  • A creative approach to problem solving and an eagerness to help to maintain a high quality bar across a wide variety of projects.

  • Good communication and time management skills, and the willingness to mentor other members of the art team.

Additional skills:

  • The following are areas of knowledge that whilst not a requirement, we would love to hear about in your application if you feel you have relevant experience:

  • Unreal Engine 4 or other game engines (e.g. in-house engines, Lumberyard, CryEngine, etc.)

  • Skinning / Rigging in Maya or 3dsmax (e.g. custom rigs, biped)

  • Scripting – e.g. C# for Unity, Python, Maxscript.

  • Adobe software such as Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, etc.

  • Other 3D software – e.g. Houdini. Marvelous Designer, Blender
