StrikerVR is looking for an enthusiastic Embedded Software Engineer with a passion for and experience in gaming technologies. We are searching for a driven, bright individual to bring their energy and expertise to bear on revolutionizing the future of our next generation haptic gaming devices.

About The Role

In this role, you will take a critical role in developing, designing, implementing, and testing gaming hardware, plus software and gaming integrations. We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply their hardware and software engineering expertise to solve problems in creative, insightful ways. You’ll work with a team of electrical and mechanical engineers to brainstorm big ideas and drive a concept to prototype.

You should enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-based, solutions-oriented environment. As a member of our engineering team, you will report directly to our CEO. This is a full-time position and it may start as early as March 2021.

Critical Job Elements:

  • Work with the team to design, architect, and implement our next generation of haptic gaming devices
  • Own prototype development, software design systems, hardware, and firmware
  • Responsible for hands-on hardware bringup, system debugging, and code optimization
  • Responsible for hardware and software systems design, coding, debugging, firmware testing, and establishing final assembly processes
  • Support production activities through unit testing and support quality assurance/quality control testing
  • Document designs, test procedure, release notes, and configuration management

Prerequisites (Must-Haves):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent; required
  • 3+ years of experience as a firmware engineer or in engineering product design and development or equivalent; required
  • Experience developing, testing, and validating embedded firmware and software; required
  • Knowledge of software design principles including industry best practices and design trends; with a proficiency in C, C#, C++, and/or Python programming languages; required
  • Knowledge of ARM, x86, or similar processor architectures; required
  • General ability to read and understand electrical schematics; required
  • Experience with rapid iteration prototypes and joint hardware/firmware development; required

Preferred Background:

  • Prior experience with PCBA bring up and verification; preferred
  • Prior experience with unit testing frameworks and tools such as CppUTest and Unity; preferred
  • History of writing firmware without an RTOS; preferred
  • Prior experience working in an agile development environment; a plus
  • Prior experience in full product lifecycle; a plus
  • Familiarity with additional high-level languages (Unreal, Unity3D, Python, Ruby, Scala, Spark, C++11, etc.); a plus
