We are looking for a quality-focused Artist who can develop, test and maintain mocap based character animation systems in conjunction with Artists and gameplay programmers. You will be detail focused and be competent in providing technical support and using a range of animation tools.

Working closely with the Art Director to improve character rigging and in game animation pipeline, you will be an integral part of the Art team, which forms a collaborative and unified team that contributes the highest standards and maintains our studio culture and values.

Key Duties Include:

  • Learn features and functions of the animation pipeline.
  • Collaborate to streamline and improve current pipeline
  • Supervise Rigging, skinning, and integration of 3D scanned game characters.
  • Work with Art Director and Gameplay Programmer to integrate in house motion capture into game engine
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Support the Art Director in any ad hoc tasks and duties.
  • Assist in Motion Capture clean-up and retargeting
  • Additional character animation tasks on an ad hoc basis

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of rigging, skinning and related character technologies.
  • Strong practical understanding of animation and rigging tools such as Maya and Motionbuilder
  • Technical knowledge of game engines such as Unity and Unreal
  • Experience of character action focused games preferred with at least one shipped title.
  • Strong character animation skills and understanding of animation principles.
  • Experience working with high-fidelity motion capture advantageous.
  • Enthusiastic, methodical, and organised approach to work with high quality standards.
  • Strong knowledge of human anatomy and the visual arts.
  • Ability to work flexibly, accept and give feedback and adapt to change.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Sense of initiative, originality and resourcefulness in problem solving.
  • Avid game player with a passion for creating innovative and compelling games with good understanding of gameplay mechanics.
