Location: Remote (UK-friendly meeting hours)

We're looking for an artist that specialises in UI design and 2D artwork to help with the creation of science outreach (i.e. educational) games in association with researchers at the University of Cambridge and Princeton University. These games are targeted at children, but with engaging gameplay that people of all ages should enjoy. Funding will come from a research grant that these universities are currently applying for.

One game has already been made, The Infection Game: Virus vs Host. This will be followed with updates to this game, and similar games in the field of health research will also be made.

The plan is to unify the art across all of the games so we would begin with improvements to the current game.

What we would need from you:

  • Assistance with scoping out the time required for all of these tasks.
  • A review of the UI of The Infection Game: Virus vs. Host
  • Recreation of current art assets so that they are consistent and can be reused across multiple games.
  • Creating the artwork required for the other games - currently three additional games are planned.

This would start off with an initial 2 month contract at 15 hours a week with a view to extend this based on the further needs of the project and the success of the funding application. Remote working is supported, so long as we can meet occasionally at sociable times for GMT/BST (UTC+0/+1).
