We're a game development studio based in Los Angeles, dedicated to the idea that online games can deliver deeper, more meaningful experiences. We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help us build our understanding of our audience.

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in data science and be excited to shape the way our organization approaches understanding its players - past, present, and future.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with our development team to create insights and frameworks that’ll inform the strategic direction of the game overall
  • Design and implement product features that leverage data to personalize player experiences
  • Collect, transform, and analyze complex data to more deeply understand our audience and their behaviors
  • Share your results with the company in clear, illustrative, and creative presentations and dashboards
  • Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our players interact with our game
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering to solve problems, identify trends and opportunities, and help shape the strategic direction of the game overall
  • Conduct exploratory analyses, helping to inform our roadmap and keeping us ahead of the curve in best serving our players
  • Help to set up and optimize our data infrastructure, including informing database and pipeline requirements and technologies

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years professional work experience analyzing large datasets and informing company strategy, or equivalent experience
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field
  • Experience in SQL and programming or scripting languages
  • Knowledge of statistics (e.g. hypothesis testing, regressions)
  • Experience manipulating data sets through statistical software (e.g. R) or other methods
  • Legally Authorized to work in the U.S.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience designing customer-facing features for consumer products
  • An interest in games
  • Development experience in any scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or experience with NoSQL databases
  • Experience in designing, building, or optimizing data warehouses, including experience with ETLs
