The USW Faculty of Creative Industries is one of the largest providers of creative education in the UK with over 2500 students studying across a portfolio of over 30 undergraduate and postgraduate courses, all contained within a campus in the heart one of the country’s most vibrant and creative cities.

The Faculty has developed a significant reputation in Computer Games, with an outstanding record of student satisfaction, graduate success, research and industry partnerships. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lecturer Course Leader position for BA(Hons) Computer Games Design within the Animation and Games Subject Area.

The post holder will contribute to teaching and leadership within the subject areas of Games and contribute to its wider portfolio of courses including BA (Hons.) Game Art and MA Games Enterprise as well as being involved in new course and research developments.

Applicants should be qualified at least to Masters Level (or of equivalent professional status) and must have a demonstrable knowledge of current design processes, methodologies and practices used within the games industry and applied within games education including developments in new areas such as immersive technologies.

The candidate should have experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine with an understanding of level design and asset production pipelines towards engine deployment and publishing, and also be able to support dissertation and practical project supervision for games students. This all needs to be against a background of a proven track record of delivering a first-class student experience, and an awareness of the current Higher Education environment to support future curriculum developments.

This position is based at Cardiff Campus. The successful applicant will support the Faculty in developing new collaborative partnerships with businesses within the Cardiff city region and beyond, as well as contributing to research activities in line with the Faculty strategic plans.
