SEGA Centre of Excellence Sofia is dedicated to serving SEGA’s Development teams in providing quality, timely, and effective QA services. The Centre is based in Business Park Sofia, nearby Mladost 4 district.

We assist all studios with publishing QA and validation functions. We support the needs of the development studios and make the creative vision become a reality.

Position Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a real passion for testing and quality assurance. You will be part of our team for an exciting new title, and you will explore new frontiers with our brand-new and exciting First-Person Tactical Shooter.

You will be working alongside a team of talented and creative developers on our new undisclosed title, contributing to the creation of a genre-defining game. You will be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, have proper attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of our team.

Please note that this is a project-based position, continuing for approximately 12 months.

We are unable to offer visa assistance and all applicants must have full eligibility to work in Bulgaria to be considered for this opportunity. The role is based in our Sofia office, but in light of the current situation, we are working from home, with very limited office access during your initial ramp-up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow a test script thoroughly and consistently;
  • Daily run of build and feature smoke tests on all target platforms;
  • Use test scripts and testing skills to finds bugs and identify the severity and risk to the business;
  • Enter professional, clear, accurate and complete bug descriptions (e.g., using the correct naming conventions, what the bug is, steps to reproduce, etc.), in the English language;
  • Follow instructions accurately and on time;
  • Honestly and effectively communicate important issues and actively work with colleagues when needed;
  • Assist with coordination of group-based testing;
  • Execute any additional requests or instructions issued by senior staff or other members of the management team that are suitable to your job remit.

At a later stage of the project, and after gaining enough QA and title experience, we may ask you for:

  • Creation, execution, and upkeep of test cases and test scenarios for the areas of coverage assigned to you;
  • Analysis of the information provided by the Development and Production Teams, and identification of the risk areas by interfacing daily with the domain experts.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Passionate first-person shooter player, with experience on titles such as Apex Legends, Valorant, Overwatch, Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike, latest releases of Battlefield, Call of Duty, etc.;
  • An Experienced player with existing knowledge of the game-play elements, strategies, and goals;
  • Work proficiency in the English language, both spoken and written. You will be required to communicate in English with your peers across the world;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Adaptable approach to testing ;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Ability to work unsupervised and maintain focus and commitment;
  • Passion and enthusiasm for the role and the company;
  • High standards of work and willingness to meet and exceed expectations;
  • Proactively help and assist colleagues and maintain a ‘can do’ attitude when under pressure;
  • Clear and concise communicator both written and verbally;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable:

  • Previous professional experience working as a software tester in game development;
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies to ensure the highest possible quality and efficiency;
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine;
  • Experience with applications such as JIRA, Confluence.
