Summary of your role:

At Rovio, we believe that great games are made by people who are passionate about actually making them! As a UI Artist, you will participate in brainstorming sessions and translate ideas into great UI concepts and mock-up. We are looking for a real team player, a person who would work closely with technical and creative people.

What you will do:

  • Create high quality user interfaces following the overall artistic direction of the project as well as technical specifications.
  • Design optimized assets that can be reused on different platforms (mobile, PC, console).
  • Iterate in collaboration with other departments.
  • Help the Art Director define the visual style of the game's user interface.
  • Solve integration problems related to outsourced assets.
  • Provide constructive feedback that will help improve the project.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

You’ll need these skills:

  • Multidisciplinary profile (2D, 3D, animation / motion design)
  • Experience with User Interface animations
  • Knowledge of VFX, shaders and other visual effects in UI.
  • Ability to think outside the box and a talent to find innovative solutions
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design skills including iconography, typography, composition, and color theory.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the branding, design, functionality and technical requirements of the game
  • A wide range of user interface styles that show flexibility (from stylized to realism)
  • Experience with a game engine (Unreal Engine or Unity)
  • Experience with mobile platforms, PCs and consoles
  • Have a problem-solving mindset and use a rigorous work methodology
  • Have a passion for games and interactive media.
