Business Development Manager, Esports (Global)

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for Esports - reports directly to the Vice President – Sports & Live Events (Global) and works to build upon Ross Video’s market position in the Esports vertical market to achieve financial growth and market share. The BDM for Esports defines long-term strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, works with the sales team to negotiate and close business deals.

The BDM for eSports develops geographic specific strategies with the Directors of Sales, Regional Sales Managers, and the Vice President – Sports & Live Events. This strategy will encompass approaches for Game Developers/Publishers, Live Venue, remote production, and distribution platforms. The person will also provide technical and workflow related feedback directly to the Sports & Live Events Team to ensure solution fit for current and future opportunities. The BDM for Esports will also provide a cohesive experience for our larger multi-national customer base.

Some of the things you will work on:

  • Develop, execute, and manage sales efforts for Ross Video’s Solutions for eSports globally.
  • Work directly with Ross Corporate Marketing, to develop eSports marketing material for web, press, presentations etc.
  • Provide sales support to the sales team internationally.
  • Provide customer service to client organizations by performing the following duties personally, or through assistance Sales Operations and the Corporate Marketing department.
  • Meet monthly/annual orders targets.
  • Build relationships with prospects and customers by calling on customer facilities either directly or alongside sales managers to promote Ross Production Workflow Solutions for eSports
  • Leverage existing relationships with clients and resellers to promote Ross Solutions for eSports
  • Seek out, develop, and maintain relationships with 3rd-party solutions, in concert with the Technical Solutions Manager – Sports & Live Events, to generate minimal-effort - run rate product revenue.
  • Deliver sales presentations to prospects, clients, and partners globally.
  • Facilitate Ross Product Demonstrations at a basic level at both customer sites and via webinar.
  • Work in tandem with the various product specialist(s) to deliver outstanding high-level demonstrations and to develop the best sales strategy for each opportunity.
  • Advise and assist end users, re-sellers, and system integrators concerning sales and purchase of Ross Solutions for eSports
  • Assist RSM’s and partners with tenders, RFP/RFQ responses.
  • Actively work with Product Marketing Teams to tailor messaging and implement marketing strategy specific to eSports customers.
  • Facilitate Ross Solution road shows, training events, and other user activities in cooperation with other Ross stakeholders.
  • Participate in partner events, and trade association meetings.
  • Develop and Maintain eSports Sales forecasting with the sales team to achieve sales goals.
  • Perform market analyses to determine eSports customer needs.
  • Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitor and evaluate competitive solutions in eSports (product features and marketing activities).
  • Review articles in trade publications to keep abreast of the latest developments in eSport productions.
  • Assist in resolution of customer complaints regarding equipment, supplies, and services.

You should ideally have:

  • Experience in eSports productions
  • Familiarity with Systems and Workflows specific to the eSports market sector
  • Knowledge of Production workflows
  • Demonstrable comfort being customer facing in a hybrid role that is both technical and sales related.
  • Knowledge of monetization models of various players in eSports market
  • Excellent organizational and orchestration skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
