Rockstar San Diego is on the lookout for talented UI tools programmers to be part of the Technical Art team and who possess a passion for developing slick user interfaces. This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstars’ state of the art game development studio in Carlsbad, California.

WHAT WE DO

  • Bring innovation and resolution to technical problems and challenges throughout Art production - from content creation through to the game.
  • Create and maintain tools that improve our Art creation/editing workflows.
  • Provide general support for Art team and document/share solutions/knowledge with the wider team.
  • Proactively use knowledge and experience to identify and solve problems before they affect the Art team.
  • Work closely with fellow Technical Artists as part of wider global team working on interconnected tools and systems.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments (aside from the Art department) such as Core/Runtime Tools and Engine teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work within the Technical Art team on creating new, as well as maintaining existing user interface applications within an established codebase.
  • Implement tasks to specification defined by the Lead Technical Artist.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.

SKILLS

  • Strong .NET/C# skills.
  • Strong WPF (or another UI desktop framework) skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Strong team communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Ability to work within a schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines.

PLUSES

Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.

  • Games industry experience working on AAA titles.
  • Familiarity with at least one current or next-gen asset pipeline.
  • Familiarity with at least one digital content creation package.
  • Prior experience with Qt and/or WinForms.
