As a Technical Writer II you will report to a Manager of Product Management. You will join a multi-functional team collaborating to administer and support work systems at Riot Games. You will work with teams across the organization to understand requirements and author technical documentation, frameworks and solutions. We will rely on you to author and maintain our technical document so we can keep creating extraordinary games and experiences for players.
Responsibilities:
- Independently conduct interviews and strategy sessions with product owners, engineers, solutions architects, and others to gather information to create and edit content
- Take ownership of content for all assigned projects including facts gathering, quality assurance, file organization and management, writing and manipulating code samples
- Provide accurate, complete, and well written content that all audience levels understand (technical and non-technical)
Required Qualifications:
- 3 + years as a technical writer in the tech industry
- Excellent technical writing skills including editing and formatting
- Experience working with technology teams, or within the tech space, to help document processes, procedures, user guides, and diagrams for systems
- Proficiency with HTML and Markdown languages
- Excellent English language skills: you are comfortable communicating with large audiences and excel at writing in-depth application how-tos, documenting standard operating procedures, and producing user-facing documentation
Desired Qualifications:
- Champion of fundamental technical writing disciplines and principles
- Experience with source code written in JavaScript, Golang, Python or TypeScript
- Produce deliverables unerringly with the highest quality possible
- Proficiency with Confluence and Google Workspace editors
- Working knowledge of modern agile methodologies and practices, including Kanban and Scrum
- Understanding of source control systems and maintaining multiple versions of content
