As a Senior Animator in Research & Development-Shanghai, you will be responsible for all aspects of animation prototype development. With a focus on game development, you will bring character to life supporting the combat, character interaction and gameplay goals of an R&D project focused on the China market.
You will create high-quality animations as well as uphold other animation responsibilities such as rigging, pre-visualization and motion-graphics work for a new game richly filled with diverse characters, creatures as well as opportunities for cinematic & story-telling sequences. You will work closely with designers and others to develop new features and gameplay experiences that meet the needs of R&D prototype development, pushing the visual fidelity of our game and building organizational confidence in our R&D project, facilitating efficient progress through the R&D development cycle.
Help define the animation systems and style explorations for characters, creatures and cut scenes according to gameplay prototype goals.
Partner with Design, Tech art, and Engineering teams to design and implement the right level of animation for early prototypes through pre-production.
Balance animation satisfaction and gameplay clarity to communicate essential game information, recognize areas of opportunity for animation to enhance gameplay.
Flexible in approach and driving rapid iteration, while also setting the style and visual bar for animation craft during pre-production.
Work with Tech Art & Engineering to define tools and workflow best practices, and ever-efficient work processes.
Meet project deadlines in a timely manner without compromising artistic integrity as defined by the Art Director and R&D development stage.
5+ years of professional experience working in 3D game animation
5+ years of professional experience working in Maya
Experience in Unity and/or Unreal
Experience in mobile and/or AAA development
