As a Narrative Writer, your experience as a published and professional writer across a broad range of media will help you guide creative projects including dreaming up new champions, fleshing out their stories, and imagining their worlds, working together with artists and designers who will help produce them and the passionate players who will bring them to life. And since your ability to develop narrative extends off the page and into pitches, you'll use your craftsmanship to create excitement from storytelling professionals. As a Narrative Writer III on VALORANT, you will play an important role in the creative process in which teams create and bring to life the playable characters that exist in our game. If you dream of breathing life into fantastical, aspirational, and diverse characters and settings in a new game, this is the role for you. Responsibilities:
- Report to the VALORANT Creative Director and work with Product Owners to ensure narrative content meets product and creative goals.
- Develop bios, backstory and character personas to inform cross-discipline development
- Write dialog scripts for in-game characters, balancing action & gameplay clarity with personality & backstory.
- Work with team members and VO Director on casting and recording of character dialog for in game and cinematics.
- Help implement dialogue and story elements into the game.
- In addition to character development, participate in worldbuilding and storytelling across the broad ecosystem of the game.
Required Qualifications:
- BA Degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years experience as a narrative writer
- 1+ years experience with game dialog writing, world building, character creation on character-driven action games
- Experience working with voiceover directors and talent during VO recordings
- Presentation software
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Jira or other project tracking software
- Experience working on a live game as service
