The Commerce initiative at Riot Games handles all global transactions from players purchasing digital goods from League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, VALORANT, and all our new games to come. Along with handling these transactions, we also ensure that we comply with our payment processors.

With new games providing more risk, the Revenue Protection team is in charge of making sure that we comply with our payment processors. The Revenue Protection team is looking for a Fraud Analyst to help maintain our processes for managing risks across a growing portfolio of games and platforms.

As a Fraud Analyst, you’ll review our data sets to locate fraud trends for patterns, and new and better ways to mitigate risk. As you analyze suspicious transactions from all over the world, you'll help keep Riot and players safe by optimizing our risk rules.

This role will report to the Revenue Protection lead analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Assess our risk monitoring rules on effectiveness, including ways to reduce false positives and improve fraud detection capabilities
  • Update existing processes and create new ones to deter fraud across all our games
  • Surface measurements related to fraud and chargebacks
  • Provide fraud support to global offices through investigations
  • Work with law enforcement to investigate potential fraud cases

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience as an analyst working in fraud, risk, data analytics or finance
  • Experience with SQL, able to write complex queries for pulling data
  • Experience working with large (10,000+ records) data sets
  • Experience with a variety of payment methods and their risks
  • Experience dealing with digital goods and digital marketplaces
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with fraud/risk in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, or Africa
  • Experience with 3rd party risk management systems
  • Experience with console marketplaces, including Nintendo’s eShop, Microsoft Xbox’s Marketplace, and Sony Playstation’s store

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and choices that focus on your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!

Our Perks

We offer medical, dental, and vision plans that cover you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children. Life insurance, parental leave, plus short-term and long-term disability coverage are also available. Riot will support your retirement benefits with a company match, and double down on your donations of time and money to non-profit charitable organizations. Balance between work and personal life is encouraged with open paid time off, and a play fund so you can broaden and deepen your personal relationship with games.

It’s our policy to provide equal employment opportunity for all applicants and members of Riot Games, Inc. Riot Games makes reasonable accommodations for handicapped and disabled Rioters and does not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, handicap, veteran status, marital status, criminal history, or any other category protected by applicable federal and state law, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance relating to an applicant's criminal history (LAMC 189.00).
