The Role

In 2009, Riot released its debut title League of Legends and has since gone on to become the most played PC game in the world and a main reason for the dramatic growth of esports. The League Championship Series (the LCS) represents the pinnacle of professional esports in North America. Recently Riot has put the "s" in Riot Games, adding Team Fight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, VALORANT and soon Wild Rift to our roster of games. The NA Esports team is the group responsible for organizing and operating competition in each of Riot's Games in North America. This includes defining regional policies for each esport and competition, driving narratives, and supporting our teams, players and fans. We want to bring joy to fans by encouraging a thriving sport ecosystem. That's where you come in.

As Business Development Partner (support) on the North American Partnerships team, you will handle our sponsors' campaigns, driving the strategy for how our partners express their brand vision. Your responsibilities will cover both broadcast, content series, and in-person experiential activations through our weekly broadcasts and our North American road shows. Additionally, you will be the main liaison between our teams and our external partners. There will be periods of time where you will work nights, weekends and travel. You will report into the Sr. Manager, Business Development and Partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the lead contact for all aspects of partners' sponsorship campaign, from ideation and planning to execution
  • Work with partners, event venue staff, and the production team to plan all sponsor on-site activation plans
  • Handle all benchmarks, tasks, and dependencies across relevant Riot Esport disciplines, agencies, and sponsors
  • You will lead daily client relationships once a sponsor has been on-boarded

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years prior experience in partnership management, account management, strategic analysis, sponsorship sales and fulfillment, or equivalent
  • Customer orientation - you have had success preparing and relaying information at all levels within the company, and with sponsors, agencies, venues.
  • Experience encouraging, managing, and maintaining positive business relationships

Desired Qualifications:

  • Your passion and experience in Sports, Gaming, Experiential or Media Agencies are a big plus

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, and choices that focus on your fellow Rioters, who are the customers of your work. Being a dedicated fan of games is not necessary for this position!
