This is a 100% Work from Home role with fixed hours (12:00pm - 9:00pm CST). This position is a temporary assignment with a duration of 12 months.

The Apex Legends™ QA PlayTester fulfills an important role at EA by providing feedback that helps us better understand the Apex Legends™ player experience. Focusing on playability and gameplay balance, the Apex Legends™ QA PlayTester will report to the Development Manager and work with the Apex QA and Development teams to identify opportunities to ensure each new Apex Legends™ release is exciting for all players.

You are the voice of the Apex Legends™ player. You understand Apex Legends™ and similar titles. You can change your playstyle from casual to hardcore, or from first-time player to veteran, and you’re passionate about providing feedback that helps make Apex Legends fantastic for everyone. You can contribute to matches with players of all skill levels and find the fun in Apex without always being the winner.

You understand what ‘meta’ means, and maybe you play competitively, or you love to min/max. Most of all, you are a passionate gamer: you follow the trends, the latest gaming news, and have a pulse on the player community.

Responsibilities

An Apex Legends™ QA PlayTester supports the development of Apex Legends™ by repeatedly playing matches of the game to test out new features including new characters, maps, items, gameplay modes, and more to produce feedback about the latest features. You will go beyond usual testing, as everything you do will be focused on playability, gameplay balance, and fun factor while preempting gameplay strategy.

As part of a specialized team, you will collaborate with your teammates on daily objectives for the game sessions as set out by your lead. During a typical day you will attend team meetings, track your time, share feedback, and most of all, play Apex Legends™.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Basic knowledge of PC hardware, software, game consoles; and

  • Basic knowledge of Google or Microsoft office software (use of sheets, email, calendar)

US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The hourly pay ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the hourly pay range for your specific location.

EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $19 - $25 USD Hourly

  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo): º $14 - $25 USD Hourly

  • Jersey City, NJ : º $21 - $25 USD Hourly

  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs): º $18 - $22 USD Hourly

  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane): º $14 - $20 USD Hourly

The hourly rate is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to temporary full-time employees scheduled to work 40 hours a week.
