Wings for Life USA funds the most promising spinal cord injury research in the USA and around the globe, and a significant portion of funds are raised through charitable events. The Social Outreach team of Red Bull Media House North America, Inc. primarily provides operational support to Wings for Life USA. As a member of Red Bull Media House’s Social Outreach Team, the Development Manager for Events will plan and deliver existing Wings for Life titled events, owning from concept to completion. This role will also take a creative and entrepreneurial approach to expanding the Wings for Life event portfolio by developing new fundraising concepts, especially into high-potential target areas of eSports, motorsports, and mainstream sports. This role will also research relevant third-party owned events, then develop support plans to maximize potential fundraising output for the charity.

AREAS THAT PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTH

  • LEAD, DEVELOP, AND OWN THE ANNUAL EVENT FUNDRAISING STRATEGY
  • COORDINATE INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RESOURCES FOR SUCCESSFUL EXECUTION OF THE FOLLOWING:
  • MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENTS, ENSURING A PREMIUM AND UNIQUE SUPPORTER EXPERIENCE:
    • Wings for Life Golf Classics
    • Wings for Life Grand Prix (in development with WFL UK)
    • eSports / FIFA event (in development)
  • LEVERAGE OF WINGS FOR LIFE GLOBAL PROPERTIES, THIRD PARTY EVENTS, AND RED BULL REGIONAL, NATIONAL, AND GLOBAL EVENTS WHERE WINGS FOR LIFE IS THE BENEFITING CHARITY
    • Wings for Life World Run participation (Flagship support and App Run)
    • Formula 1 US Grand Prix in Austin (propose and develop)
    • Other Red Bull titled events as aligned
  • MEET ANNUAL FUNDRAISING INCOME TARGETS AND DRIVE ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GROWTH
  • DEVELOP NEW FUNDRAISING EVENT CONCEPTS AS PART OF THE ANNUAL BUSINESS PLANNING CYCLE
  • SUPPORT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, SOCIAL OUTREACH / CEO AND OTHER DEVELOPMENT MANAGERS IN CULTIVATION OF NEW DONORS WHILE SUPPORTING
  • DEVELOPMENT OF EXISTING DONOR RELATIONSHIPS
  • DELIVER PROJECTS ON-TIME AND ON-BUDGET

YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES

  • 3-5 years of event management experience
  • 3-5 years of non-profit fundraising experience (preferred but not required)
  • Experience working across a wide variety of events, including fundraising events with hundreds or thousands of participants
  • Experience executing new ideas from concept to completion
  • Proven work experience managing complex projects with many internal and external partners
  • Experience building RFPs and managing production agencies
  • Proven experience managing relationships with executive level stakeholders, using excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Driven by achieving financial results and demonstrated ability to deliver targets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management preferred
  • Fluency in English
