Rebellion creates its games using an internally developed engine and toolset. In order to maintain our position at the forefront of game development, we energetically pursue improvements to those tools and, thus, the quality of our world-leading games.

We are looking for an experienced and forward-looking Tools UX specialist to liaise with tech and game dev teams and to design and champion improvements to the power and usability of our tools.

The successful applicant will be joining a vibrant and robust independent developer with over 27 years of gaming history and an exciting future ahead of it. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute at a fundamental level towards the quality of all of our games.

Requirements

You will;

  • Develop expert knowledge of our toolset
  • Creatively and ambitiously contribute towards the tools roadmap
  • Work closely with all creative disciplines to facilitate their requirements
  • Work closely with our tech team to improve the capabilities and UX of the tool suite
  • Harvest and report feedback from the tools users
  • Write and maintain clear and concise documentation

And you will have;

  • A strong knowledge and enthusiasm for the state of the art, and the future of, game dev tools
  • Practical expertise with a range of engines, level design and asset creation tools (UE3/4, Blender, Unity, Source)
  • A track record of utility UI design
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of game development and production processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
