Ready At Dawn is looking for talented and passionate Game Service Engineer to join us in creating high profile original AAA titles.

Game Service Engineers act as the bridge between backend code and the game. They are responsible for implementing service features and integrating those directly into the game and game mechanics. Game Service Engineers partner with our design, art, and service team to create full multiplayer experiences and compelling in-game experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement robust software systems
  • Collaborate with designers and artists to achieve a shared vision
  • Create usable tools, scripts, and components to empower content creators
  • Research and solve difficult engineering problems
  • Strive to add the extra polish that truly sets games apart
  • Assist with migrating Ready at Dawn’s game services into Facebook’s infrastructure
  • Build new backend systems for upcoming gameplay features

Minimum Qualification

  • 3+ years of professional game development experience in a gameplay capacity
  • Experience contributing to gameplay systems, such as player controls, game rules, scripting, weapons, and AI
  • Experienced with C++
  • Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering practices
  • Solid understanding of 3D mathematics
  • Problem solving and debugging skills
  • Experience with full-cycle game development
  • Experience writing well-structured and readable code
  • Experience with backend security, scalability, and database design paradigms
  • Experience working with distributed computing platforms
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals and game networking models
