Our Mission

Radical Forge is a growing creative powerhouse based in North East England. Starting as two people looking to build something special, we have grown relentlessly, working on a wide variety of well known released titles as well as a range of internal IP projects.

Your Mission

You will work with the server engineering team in the design, architecture, and refinement of backend game systems throughout the development cycle of the project. You will collaborate with designers and other engineers while working directly with messaging and database frameworks to provide base-level functionality for feature development.

Ideal Applicant

You will feel suited for this position if you enjoy creating automated solutions for a wide variety of tasks and challenges, as well as a passion for working out how clients connect to the backend. You will be confident and vocal in your design choices, but capable of adapting to changing circumstances for both the game and the business as required.

You will enjoy context-switching quickly from design to hands-on and back again while working in a dynamic environment, as well as being capable of handling both unplanned short days and extended days to ensure the service works as required.

Skills Summary

You will be the perfect candidate if you are proficient in C++ and experienced with network game client/server architecture, meaning solid architecture skills and attention to detail is a must-have. Additionally, strong communication skills are essential along with the ability to write clear, maintainable, portable code, as well as expertise in debugging.

We will require all applicants to have a pre-existing right to work in the UK/EU.

Remote working is only available for those based in the UK/EU with a right to work in the UK/EU.
