You will provide insights into player motivation, positing, and pitching systems that motivate player interest, behavior and that keep players playing. You will take the design off the page, into the Unreal environment day to day, working with a multidisciplinary team to implement the systems that drive the player experience. As the design owner of epics and features of the product, you will also be working directly with our experienced team leaders, advising and interpreting to ensure that the product vision is being accurately articulated through the system's design, and into the player’s hands.

Who You Are:

  • You have individually authored and driven games systems from concept to delivery on at least two shipped AAA titles.
  • You have experience structuring, collecting, and interpreting playtest feedback into action.
  • You have at least 3 full years of practical experience in Unreal 4 Blueprint in a production environment.
  • Engineers you have worked with within Unreal 4 trust your implementations.
  • You have a passion for finding opportunities to add value to each feature of a game.
  • You have superior verbal communication skills, able to summarize the trajectory of a conversation and lead it to its conclusion, with clarity.

What You Will Do:

  • Articulate product intent into the nouns and verbs of the experience.
  • Mentor others around you, leading by example.
  • Maintain ownership of Epics and their features from start to finish across the experience.
  • Advocate for the player at all times in your work.
  • Author gameplay through Blueprints in Unreal.
  • Serve as the trusted representative of our systemic approach, philosophy, and discipline.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience developing features, tools, processes on shipped titles, and titles in a live environment.
  • Experience in a collaborative effort, as part of a greater team.
  • Ample verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to receive and process critical feedback on your work.
  • Ability to provide critical feedback to other designers.
  • Strong and consistent familiarity with Unreal 4.
