Strategic Planning Manager (PlayStation Studios)

Do you want to be a part of a brand-new, groundbreaking team at PlayStation? The PlayStation Studios portfolio and strategy team is looking for a strategically minded individual to help conduct analysis and build strategic plans.

As the Strategic Planning Manager, you will be the intersection helping strengthen our products, our business, and our strategies with valuable analysis, insights, and recommendations. Working closely with both the portfolio & strategy team lead and Portfolio Manager, together we will build and maintain long-term strategy for PlayStation Studios, provide data and analysis to studio teams, and tackle ad hoc questions.

In addition, you will collaborate with teams across SIE to analyze market behaviors and conduct research that will help guide the direction of PlayStation Studios. This role will report to the Director, Product Strategy and can be based out of the San Mateo, San Diego or Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and update executive PowerPoint materials, such as the Strategic Plan (deck creation, updates, etc.) and various topical assessments
  • Collaborate with consumer insights, analytics, and finance teams to develop comprehensive recommendations
  • Serve as an industry expert performing robust analyses from an industry level to game-specific behaviors and associated performance
  • Ensure title forecasts are up to date through partnership with first-party games marketing and analytics teams

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or applicable field
  • Minimum 5+ years in highly strategic roles including corporate strategy, product strategy, consulting, or banking
  • Experienced at crafting sophisticated, clear, intelligent, and insightful executive presentations
  • Love and talent for turning research and data into meaningful, convincing recommendations
  • Expert ability to think critically and analytically
  • Advanced MS Office level experience required (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred

  • 3+ years performing strategic roles in the game industry, developing a proven understanding of the business models, levers, and consumers of the gaming market
  • Past experience building corporate level strategic plans
  • Expert PowerPoint skills, including related asset creation (e.g., Photoshop, etc.)
  • MBA from a top-tier institution
  • M&A due diligence experience
  • Knowledgeable, passionate, and regular player of video games
