Sr. Program Manager - Retail Services

About this position:

At PlayStation, Program Managers are responsible for leading ongoing execution and delivery of projects ranging from feature improvements to large-scale programs in partnership with business, design, engineering, product, and operational teams. In this role, you will lead multiple global initiatives in different stages of delivery, from inception through deployment.

The right candidate will partner with the worldwide Sony engineering and product organization, in addition to other cross-functional teams, to lead, handle, and drive product and operational readiness. The responsibilities listed are not all inclusive and additional duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • As a Senior Program Manager, own and drive end-to-end delivery of multiple large cross-regional, cross-functional initiatives with multi-level dependencies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with both internal and external partners to estimate effort, define landmarks, execute and deliver with high standards.
  • Track progress, identify and resolve dependencies, mitigate risks and communicate status to upper management and partners.
  • Establish/improve a standard methodology and metrics for the organization with best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively remove obstacles to drive momentum and progress. Identify communication gaps, handle risks and issues, provide support to teams, and proactively get results.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Program Management experience driving software development
  • Strong communication, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent executive presence and interpersonal skills across all levels of leadership
  • Desire to drive process excellence
  • Solid understanding of software development, and release processes
  • Proficiency with tools in agile development (Atlassian product suite: Jira, Portfolio, DataPlane Reports, Big Picture, Confluence, and other collaboration tools like Google Apps Suite and Office 365.)
  • Solid understanding of agile principles and release processes
  • Shown technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks
  • High proficiency with collaborating, process management and reporting tools
  • Experience driving multiple, simultaneous cross-regional, cross-team initiatives
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Ability to work with diverse teams
  • Growth mentality, ability to be innovative and adapt quickly
  • Facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Ability to lead both vertically and horizontally in a global organization
  • Keen reader of people, culture and situations to take control and make things happen
  • Experience in conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Extraordinary organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to recognize, communicate and resolve blockers quickly and effectively
  • Proven ability to tackle routine and complicated problems effectively and independently
  • Willingness to stress the process, make suggestions and implement changes in your sphere of influence!
  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent required

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with gaming consoles/platforms, digital media software and networking technologies, especially those related to Sony’s products, services, and devices
  • Experience in the streaming, gaming, music, digital media, network service industry is a plus
  • Japanese language skills helpful
