Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer in San Diego, CA to conduct robust statistical analysis of big data using hypothesis testing, design of experiment, and inferential statistics.

Requires a Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent, and two (2) years of experience building end-to-end machine learning solutions using pattern mining, anomaly detection, classification, regression and clustering.

Prior experience must include two (2) years of experience building fraud detection, identity verification, authentication solutions; applying advanced machine learning algorithms including supervised and unsupervised learning to machine learning modeling techniques including feature selection, dimensionality reduction, hyper-parameter tuning, model optimization, and statistics inferences driven by business problems; evaluating machine learning models based on optimization of KPI metrics, including AUC, precision, recall, F1, KS statistics, log-loss, overall misclassification error rate, false positive, and false negative; utilizing K-fold cross-validated sample and out-of-time hold-out sample to ensure generalization; generating visualization and insights from data analysis using Tableau and Python; performing large scale data manipulation and feature engineering for relational databases and structured data format to assess, clean, merge, and analyze large data sets from different data warehouse sources with Hive, Hadoop, MySQL, SQL; and building data pipeline and model deployment in big data cloud environment including Google Cloud.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
