Senior Financial Business Analyst

San Mateo, CA

The SAP Senior Business Analyst will work with the Senior Manager of Finance Applications and serve as a key liaison between Finance & IT, responsible for executing the analysis, design, configuration, development, testing, implementation and operational support for SAP Finance applications. The SAP Senior Business Analyst will work with multiple partners: General Accounting, Procure to Pay, Controlling Accounting, Planning to understand, document end to end business processes and provide recommendations, builds and implement SAP solutions to enhance and improve the Finance business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Continued configuration of various functions within Finance/Controlling/Costing, such as: New GL, Document Splitting, Intercompany Processing, Accounts Receivable (FI-AR), AP, Fixed Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Bank Accounting and Tax.
  • Evaluate, capture requirements, develop and deploy new processes and configuration to meet business needs.
  • Analyze data and processes to identify/tackle problems, and recommend improvements.
  • Proactively provide status on all activities to appropriate partners.
  • Develop and maintain report automation to support month end closing and other activities.
  • Continually strive to enhance or improve business systems processes that drive efficiency through use of standard methodologies.
  • Document requirements for new functionality as required in support of FI/CO initiatives.
  • Collaboration with Sales and Distribution, and IT team members.
  • Develop functional design specifications in support of existing and new application requirements.
  • Collaborate with various technical teams to evaluate design alternatives, optimize design solution and minimize impact to performance.
  • Develop and executive functional unit test cases in support of new application requirements.
  • Work with cross function teams to perform test activities (e.g. integration, performance, user acceptance).
  • Support the deployment of production applications and provide post-production support related to custom system improvements and integration points. Managing projects, developing project plans, and supervising performance
  • Updating, implementing and maintaining procedures
  • Leading work you're doing and ensuring timely completion of projects

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an MBA
  • At least 5 years of experience as SAP FICO business analyst
  • Ability to configure SAP Finance/Controlling
  • Strong analytical approach to problem solving and solution development
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and flexible approach to operate in a global context
  • Proven experience with SAP systems implementation in a corporate environment
  • Experience with SAP ERP, Data Warehouse, BI Tools (Business Objects, COGNOS, Mirco-strategy)
  • Excellent documentation & interpersonal skills
  • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Experience crafting detailed reports and giving presentations
  • A track record of following through on commitments
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Experience leading and developing top performing teams
  • Ability to review functional and technical specifications and make recommendations for improvement prior to development
