Senior Cloud Engineering Manager
Location: San Francisco, CA
PlayStation cloud engineering group is growing rapidly and is looking for a top notch engineering manager to lead smart group of engineers that are innovating in the areas of data technologies, CI/CD, monitoring, and load/performance testing.
You will be managing distributed systems that are powering 100+ million PS4 consoles that deliver immersive gaming experiences. You will love working at PlayStation if you have a strong passion for systems, availability, and resiliency.
Managerial Skills
- 5+ years of experience in attracting and leading technical teams
- Establish vision and execution road map for your team
- Strong collaboration & proven success in partnering with development teams
- Comfortable leading initiatives and presenting to large groups
- Excellent at assessing, coaching, and grooming talent
- Curious about emerging technologies, willing to quickly evaluate and adapt to new technologies
- Take calculated risks, have fail-fast mindset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment
Technical Skills
- BS/MS in computer science or equivalent experience
- Experience leading agile teams
- Experience in managing database systems especially NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, Aerospike, CouchBase, Elastic Search is a strong plus.
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (Python, Scala, Ruby, etc.)
- Knowledge and experience with data technologies such as Spark, Flink, Kafka is a strong plus.
- Proven track-record working with distributed systems and large scale engineering challenges
- Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture, cloud computing (AWS), and familiarity with microservices architecture
- Experience using Java and/or GoLang
- Good understanding of CI/CD w/ Kubernetes/Containers, Load testing, and Monitoring is a nice plus
