Role Overview

Do you like to work closely with Product Managers and Engineering teams to help plan and track projects from initiation through deployment at a global scale?

We are seeking a well-rounded, ambitious, and high-energy Sr. Program Manager to lead various fast-growing agile software development programs and improve the publishing platform for the Sony PlayStation Network.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Program Manager you will be responsible for leading projects supporting the re-launch and globalisation of a number of developer and partner facing tools. As a leader within our program management team, you will create and maintain positive collaborations between technical teams and business owners to deliver on strategic organisational initiatives.

Our Partner Platform & Tools team is responsible for building a modern, global platform for our thousands of game and application developers. This role requires you to be uncompromising in delivery of high quality, scalable, and innovative solutions. You will have shown program management skills in dependency and schedule tracking but also in process improvement and documentation. We strive to provide clear communications and organisational agility. We like to have fun while we work, you should too!

Driving Results

  • Develop the overall program plan; coordinating an agreement on scope, tracking success criteria, key achievements, and timelines.
  • Handle dependencies; technical, process and people.
  • Identify and minimize risks throughout the plan.
  • Lead day-to-day activities required to deliver an outstanding solution on time.
  • Facilitate meetings and follow up on action items.
  • Deliver clear status updates.
  • Provide leadership by example.

What We're Looking For

  • 3 - 6 years project/program management with at least a Bachelor’s Degree, or demonstrate significant commiserate practical experience
  • Exposure to handling complex software programs; knowledge of digital content delivery or CMS preferred.
  • Special consideration if you possess experience in the content management, gaming, music, digital media, network service industry
  • Previous experience utilising agile methodologies and principles.
  • Facilitation skills in leading planning meetings, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills across all levels of leadership.
  • Ability to influence across disciplines to shape outcomes.
  • Keen reader of people, culture and situations to take control and make things happen.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Recognise and communicate blocking issue situations.
  • Extraordinary organisational and planning skills.
  • Exposure to tools used in agile development (Rally, Jira, Confluence, Trello, Google Docs, etc…).
  • Strong preference for expertise integrating JIRA and confluence as a reporting medium.
  • Shown understanding of agile software development, and release processes.
  • Proven ability to tackle routine and complicated problems effectively and independently.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a digital delivery environment, CMS, or e-Commerce environment.
  • SAFe knowledge (www.scaledagileframework.com).
  • Familiarity with digital media software and networking technologies, especially those related to Sony’s products, services, and devices.
  • Japanese language skills helpful.
