Role Overview:

SIE is the central support organisation for over 100 countries in Europe, Africa, Middle East and Australasia. We market all hardware in the PlayStation® portfolio and are market leaders in the publishing of software (s/w) on PlayStation formats.

The Events team is part of the Activations, Partnerships and Events group, and responsible for delivering B2B and B2C events including product launches, influencer experiences, staff socials, launch parties, press conferences, company conferences, talent dinners, senior management meetings and trade, retail and consumer exhibitions internationally.

The department consists of hardworking but fun-loving professionals dedicated to the success of our business in each territory. The environment is busy, youth-oriented, dynamic, fun and conscientious.

The Events Manager, EMEA will be responsible for supporting the territories in delivering their local events, as well as delivering major international events to support the global marketing strategy. Territory support will include hardware and software technical support, artwork approvals and evaluations. The Events Manager will also support the Senior Events Manager and wider team to deliver the groups owned events where required.

What you’ll be doing:

Provide support and assistance to SIE’s European Events Team via tasks including:

  • Managing all territory events requests via Wrike - Coordinate code approvals, hardware shipping, artwork approvals and technical support.
  • Leadership and direction of the wider events team, line management of the Events Planner
  • Delivery of 3-4 major international events per year to support the global strategy - End to end management, production and evaluation.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of the team’s events for both media and consumers.
  • Creating and distributing event toolkits and assets.
  • This position requires frequent travel within territories – applicant must be willing and able to travel on a regular basis.
  • Assisting with budget control through Purchase Orders, tracking and consolidation of recharges.
  • Team Administrative responsibilities where required.
  • Liaising between internal stakeholders and agencies working on the company’s behalf -Ensuring owned projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Ownership of inventory levels for all event defined hardware and products including warehouse management, refurbishment, and product classification, order history, tracking and shipping).
  • Bringing new ideas to the team and supporting process adjustments to improve efficiencies.
  • Coordination and ownership of all creative needs for specific events, working with internal/external vendors for collateral materials/graphics, signage and toolkits to support events.

What we are looking for:

  • Degree level (preferably with an Events or Marketing discipline)
  • 4 - 5 years event production experience, within Marketing an advantage
  • Good understanding of technical equipment - Gaming or entertainment hardware an advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft – Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to work on own initiative; highly motivated, a team player and able to keep pace in a busy office environment
  • Able to think creatively and where necessary, strategically
  • Commercial outlook - pragmatic and reliable
  • Organised – strong time management skills; able to prioritise and organise a varied work schedule
  • Communicative - strong interpersonal skills are required in an international dept. where communication is key
  • Able to translate concepts into practical realities
  • Willing and able to travel internationally when required
  • Prepared to work outside of standard working hours when projects and events demand it
  • Second European language an advantage but not essential
