Director, People Analytics

San Mateo, CA – (2-3 days a week on average), Full Remote until September

SIE is seeking a Director, Global People Analytics, Insights & Reporting to help evolve SIE people data infrastructure, reporting and insights capabilities into those that drive business outcomes. The position will build partnerships with key partners and will drive the delivery of a data infrastructure that will bring together SIEs people data systems globally and enable the foundation for reporting and insights growth. You will ensure excellent partnership across the HR centers of excellence and business units to craft, analyze and implement a strategy, framework and process to advance SIEs use of people data and self service capabilities. You will also be responsible for design and delivery of people data dashboards and reporting for internal HR partners as well as customers across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with partners to understand and define modeling and analytic requirements and translate business problems into questions that data science can answer
  • Use impactful visuals, narratives, and storytelling to develop compelling presentations for technical and non-technical partners that describe models or provide insights about the impact of our initiatives
  • Complete monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc HR reporting and data analysis.
  • Conduct data analysis and discovery to identify trends and correlations to uncover insights. Recommends information that should be analyzed based on key indicators, works to resolve root cause, and/or identify areas of concern
  • Design and implement the HR roadmap for reporting, analytics and to provide the business and HR operational, strategic and tactical metrics for the business.
  • Determine the strategy to evolve HR Analytics maturity level from descriptive to diagnostic reporting, predictive analytics to proscriptive outcomes
  • Collaborate with individuals in HR and across the Center to develop insights that make valuable contributions; provide advisory services in support of strategic objectives, planning and executive review
  • Build dashboards and reports to regularly communicate insights derived from people data, experimental results, and ad-hoc deep dives
  • Determine model quality by analyzing model results, validating chosen methodologies and metrics, quantifying model impact, and identifying bias and advise the results to technical and non-technical partners
  • Analyze results from A/B/n experiments to evaluate performance and communicate results to model developers for further optimization in subsequent iterations
  • Challenge assumptions and push teams to ask the right questions, and then deliver the right answers
  • Advocate for data-forward thinking within the Human Resources organization and customer groups
  • Ability and willingness to role up their sleeves on both the strategic aspects of the role as well as the tactical aspects.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in data-directed visualization and storytelling in a Data Analyst, Business Performance or Financial Analyst role
  • 3+ years demonstrated ability within the HR space with foundational knowledge of WorkDay
  • Deep understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within Human Resources and database structures
  • Curious business mentality with an ability to boil down technical approaches and sophisticated findings into simple and compelling narratives that inspire change
  • Experience crafting data visualizations and storytelling to optimally communicate data science models and insights to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Demonstrable track record to balance art and science when visually presenting information
  • Extensive experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, Visier
  • Strong proficiency in SQL-based languages
  • Excellent eye for business, and the communication skills to effectively and manage relationships with partners with both technical and non-technical backgrounds
  • Experience working globally, collaboratively and cross-functionally and influencing without authority
  • Obsession with data quality and accuracy
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong problem resolution skills (critical, strategic, and evaluative thinking)
  • Self-starter with ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines
