The Intermediate Business Systems Analyst reports to the Manager, Business Systems Integrations within Business Services. The Business Systems Analyst is expected to support Sony Interactive Entertainment, PlayStation Studios QA business systems as well as help lead and deliver on upcoming projects, programs, system implementations and process improvements efforts.

Responsibilities:

Program/Project Management:

  • Cultivates strong relationships with technical and non-technical partners
  • Experience delivering products, projects and programs predictably using Agile methodology
  • Execute Project and Program Management functions including project planning, communication, risk management, and schedule & budget management
  • Acting as a driving force in moving projects and programs toward a successful completion
  • Provide concise, precise and timely project communication to stakeholders at regular intervals
  • Coordinate with global project team members

Business Systems Analysis:

  • Gather requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, and/or workflow analysis
  • Elicit business needs, and relay to the team with clarity
  • Evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and decompose high-level business and user requirements appropriate level of detail
  • Develop flow charts, data models, database design, entity relationship diagrams, etc.
  • Define and optimize workflow processes; utilize value stream mapping to identify process efficiency
  • Investigate, analyze, evaluate, and estimate costs/benefits of existing and for future business systems/process changes
  • Resolve conflicts and broker agreement between stakeholders with conflicting requirements or goals
  • Configure, customize with low-code requirements, and manage a complex environment of both production and in-development projects.
  • Understand table relationships and standard database operational principles. Conduct application troubleshooting.
  • Prepare system wireframes and work together with UI/UX professionals to design or improve system’s interface
  • Reviews technical design documents, development integration and quality assurance test plans for conformance to design
  • Train end users on applications, document procedures, and internal business application system
  • Conduct periodic system utilization/heath check-ins to confirm adoption and realization of ROI
  • Develop strategies to improve the effectiveness of existing systems
  • Develop and manage security policies for users and systems

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of business system management/implementation experience
  • 2+ years in technical project management capacity on medium to large scale projects
  • 2+ years working in agile project environment
  • 1+ years of experience in a global organization and working with multinational project teams.
  • Strong understanding of business systems, database design practices, and all phases of Software Development Lifecycle
  • Ability to think outside of the set parameters to identify creative solutions
  • Must possess a sound commitment to provide the high level of service necessary for accomplishment of the job and organization objectives while creating and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Must be able to effectively articulate difficult ideas and concepts to individuals with varying degrees of experience and seniority within the company;

Preferred Experience / Education:

  • 3+ years’ experience working with BI or business systems
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Comfortable working in a global matrix based team
  • Agile or Project Management certification would be considered an asset.
  • Hands on knowledge of Relational Database Design (intermediate knowledge of Transact-SQL)
  • Prior software engineering experience or education is a strong asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with different development methodologies
  • Familiarity with gaming industry will be considered a strong asset
