The Data Strategy & Operations (DSO) team has grown rapidly over recent years in response to an increasing need for the business to leverage data to advise and craft key decisions, and to identify new opportunities. Currently there are over 100 staff within the DSO team, split between London and California, made up of high-quality business intelligence (BI) and data professionals covering BI architecture, platform support, data processing, insight reporting, predictive analytics, scrum masters and product management.

DSO is looking to recruit a flexible, skilled, highly driven individual for a global customer facing role providing analytical support on the global Business Intelligence Consulting team. The US based Business Intelligence Consultants ensure our customers receives value from DSO through direct engagement, support and hands on services. This role will expand that value to our global customer base. Our new team member must be comfortable working with remote teams during mostly US hours.

What you’ll be doing:

Customer Engagement:

  • Collaborate with partners and Sony Group internal partners to ensure their project plans are supported by Sony data assets.
  • Collaborate with partners and SIE Business Management teams on data needs to help identify, evaluate, and fulfill viable market opportunities and identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to identify data gaps and take steps to fill them.

Customer Support:

  • Facilitate and assist product management with multi-functional process improvements and core data support
  • Support our analyst community data needs and access requests
  • Advocate and implement data education and data literacy
  • Customer Service:
  • Provide business analysis; introducing new data assets and using existing assets to help empower our teams across the PlayStation Network.
  • Conceptualize and produce insightful data visualisations.

What we are looking for:

  • 2 years’ professional experience working in Business Intelligence related role
  • 3 years’ professional experience working with SQL in complex data warehousing instance
  • 1 years’ professional experience with MicroStrategy, Tableau, Snowflake, Adobe Analytics, Atlassian tools (Jira, Trello or Confluence) or similar
  • Experience working in a complex environment; multiple sites, multiple global regions, multiple partners (internal and external)
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills to all levels
  • Ability to travel, including some international travel, for key partner meetings
  • Educated to degree level, equivalent professional qualification or professional experience in Statistics, Computer Science or related field

Nice to have:

  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with SDLC Agile practices and leading software delivery in a multi-functional organization.
  • Experience with training and data literacy
  • Sophisticated statistical analysis skills. Proficiency in a statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, SPSS)
  • Experience with technologies, AWS, GitHub, Airflow or similar
