People Can Fly is one of the leading independent AAA games development studios with an international team of hundreds of talented individuals working from offices located in Poland, UK, US, and Canada, and from all over the world thanks to our remote work programs.
Founded in 2002, we made our mark on the shooter genre with titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War: Judgment, and Outriders. We are one of the most experienced Unreal Engine studios in the industry and we are expanding it with in-house solutions called PCF Framework.
Our creative teams are currently working on several exciting titles: Gemini is our new project being developed with Square Enix; Maverick is a Triple-A game developed in collaboration with Microsoft Corporation; Bifrost & Victoria are projects we're growing in the self-publishing model. We are also busy working on a VR and undisclosed projects, more information on those to come later.

Job Description
As the Head of Community, you will play a pivotal role in PCF’s Self-Publishing division, driving the creation of sustainable Games-as-a-Service (GaaS) products. We’re looking for someone with deep industry experience who can lead the development, execution, and growth of community strategies across all PCF self-published titles. You know how much impact a vibrant, positive community can have on a game’s success and will proactively address challenges that arise in a live gaming environment. Your mission will be to oversee and implement strategies that foster engagement and help grow our player base.
This role works closely with teams across marketing, live services, production, and development, reporting directly to the Marketing Director. We need someone with a strong background in game community management, capable of working independently to develop top-tier processes and strategies. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed community plans tied to project milestones, writing and reviewing community content, managing the production of community assets, and scaling the team to meet the evolving needs of our games.
Responsibilities
Assign and delegate tasks effectively to team members, providing support, monitoring progress, and reviewing the quality of their work (functionally overseeing the community for our self-published games).
Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve behavior and performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Conduct performance evaluations, offering valuable insights for career development during periodic reviews.
Create a positive and engaging team environment by setting clear expectations, supporting work-life balance, and encouraging team members to propose solutions and share opinions. Use data such as pulse checks and satisfaction scores to maintain team well-being.
Collaborate with other Leads, Directors, departments, and project stakeholders to ensure open communication, build trust, and work toward project goals. Partner with cross-functional teams to align community strategies with overall objectives.
Implement the Director’s vision and provide valuable feedback to optimize efficiency and meet deadlines. Raise concerns and share key data with leadership to contribute to decision-making.
Lead the creation of community plans for PCF Self-Published games, from ideation to implementation. Conduct post-mortems to gather insights for improving future initiatives.
Drive player engagement, growth, retention, and satisfaction through targeted community strategies and by meeting established KPIs.
Work closely with the marketing and development teams to understand key game features, selling points, and community-building objectives.
Regularly play the games/builds to identify potential player pain points that may impact community communication efforts, such as creating game FAQs.
Contribute to marketing plans by developing the social media and community communication strategies for PCF games.
Help create and curate content for supported games, including blogs, social media posts, and platform messaging, ensuring all communications are strategically aligned.
Identify and engage with community influencers and evangelists to support overall community growth efforts.
Continuously analyze feedback and data trends to identify areas for improvement and drive the success of future initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in video game community management or a related field within interactive entertainment.
Proficiency across all social platforms, online forums, and community management tools, with a deep understanding of their best practices.
Proven leadership skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships with colleagues, peers, and gaming communities.
Exceptional attention to detail in maintaining a consistent brand voice and tone across multiple platforms.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, effectively managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving mindset, capable of finding solutions under pressure and in dynamic situations.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, for player interaction and creating actionable materials for stakeholders.
High level of self-motivation and dedication, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Genuine passion for video games, with an interest in keeping up with industry trends and developments.
