Armature is proudly a part of the Reality Labs organization at Meta. We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to collaborate with our team and the larger Meta organization to create and manage infrastructure for Armature’s next VR title.
Senior Backend Engineer - Armature Responsibilities:
System design and implementation - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect and design robust, scalable, and efficient backend infrastructure solutions
End-to-end ownership - Take full ownership of the entire lifecycle of services, including deployment and live operations
Collaboration and Communication - Work closely with other engineering teams, producers, and DevOps to find the best solutions and clearly communicate status and needs
Automation and DevOps - Implement strategies for deployment, monitoring, and scaling backend services
Security and Compliance - Ensure our backend systems comply with best practices and security standards
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in backend infrastructure engineering with a track record of hitting deadlines
Infrastructure architecture - in-depth knowledge of C++, Python, and PHP
Self-governing - can work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative to make sure projects drive forward
Live services operation - experience in operating live services, ensuring their smooth operation throughout the life cycle
Collaborative team player - proven communication skills with a collaborative and team-oriented mindset, with a willingness to engage with team members and the Meta organization at large to ensure communication and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications:
Gaming industry experience
Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4, 5
Familiarity with Jenkins and Groovy
Familiarity with security and compliance issues
Familiarity with MS Build
Familiarity with Chef or Ruby
